Here is a conversation I had yesterday with a very nice lady, who lives in New Jersey and whom I consider a friend, who has never been to Kansas. Obviously she has never seen photos of Kansas prairie flowers.
Alison: I didn’t bring my camera because I never end up taking photos. The only thing I’m good at photographing is flowers (said about photographing people).
NJ: Oh, what kind of flowers do you photograph?
Alison: Kansas flowers.
NJ: What kind of flowers grow in Kansas?
Alison: Well, prairie flowers and other flowers too. You know, we have prairie in Kansas.
NJ: OK, you have prairie. So you have grass.
Alison: Ummm, prairie isn’t exactly grass. I mean, there is grass in prairie, but it’s really about flowers. It’s full of flowers.
NJ: Oh, I never knew that.
Is that another nature myth busted?
Disclaimer: I don’t guarantee that this conversation is word-for-word accurate, but you get the idea. Oh, and I’m sure I’m equally ignorant about New Jersey.

LOL, replace NJ with AZ and you have my assumption of Kansas prairies. *blush*
