It seems I’m not the only one who is promoting the idea of getting outside in nature. Yesterday I came across three different state sites which have ideas for outdoor nature activities. Since there are another 47 states for which I don’t yet know of nature programs for kids, please do let me know if your state has an outdoor in nature program website I should check out.
Explore the Outdoors in Ohio
Ohio has a really great looking website called Explore the Outdoors. Kids complete activities like camping under the stars and splashing in a stream and earn secret codes. When they become Advanced Explorers by completing 8 activities they can enter to win prizes.
Get Outdoors in Florida
The Florida Get Outdoors site focuses on getting individuals and families outdoors by providing activity tips and an events calendar. Check out their rediscover Florida 100 ways in 100 days for plenty of ideas.
Share the Wonder of Outdoor Alabama
At the Outdoor Alabama website you’ll find information on watchable wildlife. They also have an interactive state map and information on special programs, including becoming an outdoors woman.
Have fun reading.
