There’s enough doom, gloom, and sensationalism out there for us to read from the mainstream media. I’ve decided that from now on my news round-up will contain ONLY good, fun, thoughtful, encouraging, stuff – stories about people who care and about legislation that is heading in the right difference. People are making a difference and, the speed may be glacial, but the news is that even big businesses are paying more attention to growing green – for today at least let’s focus on the good stuff
Herewith today’s digest of Growing Green News – my picks from environmental organizations, alternative news sites, and from the environmental section of mainstream media sites:
- According to a new study by Deloitte big businesses are paying more attention to the environment. ENN has the take.
- One of the issued raised when I wrote about Green Guilt was that it is really hard to compare different products. A new endorsement called the Good Housekeeping Green Seal could prove to be a handy tool.
- The Environmental Protection Agency is looking into legislation to require greenhouse gas reports from upto 13,000 of the companies likely to be the worst offenders. Read more at Yahoo News.
- Treehugger has posted a guide to the green projects in President Obama’s stimulus package. Take a look.
- There’s good news for endangered species from the Los Angeles Times. President Obama has reinstated the need for experts to be consulted before construction projects which could affect threatened species go ahead.
- The Christian Science Monitor reports on women in Iowa who are putting conservation before profit on their farms.
What’s your good news today? Let’s all look for the good in things, just for today at least
