Depression Cooking

Are you worried about the next Great Depression? If so, take heart. People are resilient. We are all capable of more than we give ourselves credit for. History has shown that. Self-sufficiency skills can not only help you get through tough times with your family, but I think they are fun to learn. YMMV. Here is the first in a series of videos by a 91 year old great grandmother called Great Depression Cooking. Imagine this, it’s one of the hot videos on YouTube right now!

Should you be totally lacking in cooking skills, it’s time to roll up your sleeves and learn from someone who’s “been there and done that”. Forget about gourmet cookery books and lavish dinners with expensive, imported ingredients, save those for birthdays and holidays if you want, but make sure you know how to cook a basic meal which will sustain you on minimum income if necessary.

Loving Nature’s Garden is supported by purchases from UsborneKC – Usborne Books and More. Kids can learn basic cooking skills with Parent’s Choice approved Starting Cooking and a range of other cookery books from Usborne.
