It has come to my attention that out there around the world are little, green Earthonauts – kids who are curious about our planet and appreciate her beauty and bounty. My own kids are getting older and I miss the innocence and enthusiasm of their early days on our amazing, and wonderful, planet.
Here’s your chance to:
- Make people smile.
- Remind us all about how wonderful our Earth and her bounty is.
- Get some fame and fortune; OK, not fortune, but some limited fame.
Happy Little Green Earthonauts Contest Rules
- For any child age 12 and under.
- Open until midnight on Wednesday, February 4th, 2009.
- Submit one or more creative piece which relates to the Earth, nature, or something else natural (could be food) – use your full imagination in this. All entries will be considered. Suggestions include: a short written piece; a drawing or cartoon; a quote of something your child said; a story of something your child did (can be written down by you if they are not old enough to write yet); a sound recording; a video; or a photograph. The creative work must have been done within the last 12 months – no stories of infants if your child is now 3 years old or something.
How to Submit Your Little Earthonaut’s Entry
- Leave a comment here to let me know your child will be sharing.
- Either post your child’s entry on your blog or e-mail it to me (my e-mail is given out over there on the right). I don’t need your child’s real name or any contact details, use whatever name you like, yours if you prefer. Tell me their age.
- If the entry is on your, or your child’s, blog include a link back to here when you post it and e-mail the permalink for your post to me. I’ll give you a link back when I publish the list of participants after we have a winner. Take a copy of this graphic to post alongside your entry if you want.
Judging
All entries will be judged by Artist Girl, a sometimes all too serious teen, on their ability to make her smile. She reserves the right to choose more than one winner. The winning entry/entries will be published here to make everyone smile

I’m already thinking that my deadline of just one week to get submissions in might be a bit hasty. I DO want Artist Girl to receive some submissions to make her smile.
