I Admire You Because…

I admire many things in other people. I admire you because…

  • You bake your own bread from scratch every day
  • You raise your own food
  • You walk or cycle when you want to go somewhere
  • You wear earth-friendly clothing – make your own, buy Organic, or manage on used clothing
  • You dry your laundry outside
  • You advocate for better treatment of our wonderful planet
  • You are part of a community effort that makes this world a better place
  • You can and preserve your own produce
  • You provide food for others in need
  • You earn in a way that is kind to the Earth
  • You raise your children by yourself
  • You have escaped a difficult situation and are building a better life for yourself
  • You love and care for an elderly or disabled person

If I were a different person I would do these instead of writing about them! What do you admire in others?

That’s a cool list! I just love baking bread, and do it far too seldom.

Hi Cookiemouse, it’s good to see you again! Do you have a favorite kind of bread?

I like French baguette, ciabatta and Scottish bread rolls. You can’t get anything similar to Scottish bread rolls where I live now :-(

Anytime I travel my very favorite place to visit is a local bakery. Many, many places I’ve traveled to have their own regional specialty breads, pastries and cakes. Yum!

I admire you for writing about them, too :)

Hi Jen, thanks for visiting. I thought about more things I admire that I’d forgotten to add. Later…

I love sourdough bread, and real Italian country bread.

Mmmmm… I like sourdough bread too Cookiemouse. Have you ever had clam chowder inside a sourdough bread bowl? If you’re not familiar with clam chowder, it’s a creamy fish soup. On the Pacific Coast of America it’s very popular to serve it in a bowl made out of sourdough bread.

    Delicious!!!!

If for no other reason, we need to take care of our oceans so that we can safely continue to eat this treat!
